Unique in its striking appearance and just as delicious in taste! This elongated avocado has a smooth, dark green skin with deliciously creamy flesh on the inside. Just like a traditional avocado, there is a brown pit in the middle. The velvety soft, green flesh has a mild, nutty flavor and can be used in both savory and sweet dishes.

How to store

An unripe avocado is hard and it is best to store it a pantry at a temperature of 12 to 15 degrees so that it can ripen for a while. Long vocados stay green, but soften a bit as they ripen. Then it’s best to eat them as soon as possible and not keep them too long.

How to eat

Carefully cut the avocado lengthwise, remove the pit, and scoop out the flesh with a spoon. You can then cut the creamy flesh into slices, cubes or puree it. Due to its mild, nutty flavour, the long avocado can be used in both sweet and savoury dishes, such as smoothies, salads, poké bowls, or as a spread on your favourite sandwich. It’s extra fun to use the special shape of this avocado. Halve the long avocado lengthwise and fill it with a Mexican filling, shrimp, caprese salad or tuna salad.
