Spooky Potion

Peel the lychees and remove the pit. Place a blueberry inside each lychee and set them on a tray in the freezer for about 4 hours.

Peel the purple carrots with a vegetable peeler and cut them into pieces. Add the carrot pieces and blueberries to a blender (or use a slowjuicer) and blend until smooth. Strain the puree through a fine sieve and collect the juice in a jug.

Shake this carrot juice with the orange juice, lemon juice, gin, honey and ice cubes in a cocktail shaker. Pour into a stylish cocktail glass and add the frozen lychee eyes.

For the finishing touch: place one lychee eye on a cocktail stick and rest it on the rim of the glass. Who dares to drink this Spooky Potion?

Besides the well-known variety, there are also white ‘white satin’, purple ‘purple haze’, black ‘deep purple’, yellow ‘yellow mellow’ and red carrots. These cheerful carrots provide a colorful feast on your plate!

FRUIT

Blueberries

Blueberries are small, round and juicy berries that belong to the heather family. The deep blue to purple berries are known for their sweet, slightly sour taste and nutritional value.

FRUIT

Lychees

Lychees have a red, firm skin. During ripening, the lychee changes color from pink-red to red-brown and when it is ripe, you can peel the fruit and a delicious, glassy white fruit appears with a seed in it. Lychees are juicy and deliciously sweet in taste.
