— MINI VEGETABLES
Mini artichokes
Artichokes have a delicious, slightly bitter, nutty and soft taste. Unlike the greener varieties, they are edible in whole, which makes it a great product. In addition, the taste can be experienced as more intense, this often happens with mini vegetables because the taste is often spread over a smaller surface.

Origin
The plant has been eaten in the Mediterranean since the 8th century. It was only later, in the 16th 17th century, that the artichoke was also introduced to Northern Europe. When they are not harvested, the artichoke eventually grows into a beautiful purple coloured flower.

How to store
Artichokes can be kept in the refrigerator for a few days.
How to eat
You can use the whole artichoke by cutting the stem a few centimetres below the flower. With the mini artichoke it is nice that you can eat the product as a whole.
Do you want to use the artichoke heart only? Then first cut off the stem in its entirety. Pick or peel the leaves from the edge. Scoop out the “hay”. Then cut a thin slice off the bottom. Now you can cook the artichoke heart until it is soft.
