Papaya Formosa
This large papaya variety can weigh up to 3 kilos. It has a strong skin and is yellow-green in colour. It has a solid skin and is yellow-green in color. The pulp is orange and, like other papayas, contains black inedible, round seeds. The fruit itself is soft and has a mildly sweet melon-like flavor.

This fruit originally comes from Mexico. Bud Holland imports the Formosa papaya from Brazil and Costa Rica.

How to store
Ripe papayas can be stored in a cool place for several days, but should not be kept in the refrigerator. Unripe fruits can ripen at room temperature.
How to eat
You can of course just peel, dice and eat papayas. But what is also fun is to make papaya yachts! Cut the papayas in half and remove the seeds. Now fill the space with whatever you like. Yogurt, quark, ice cream… And then decorate with toppings such as fruit, cereals, nuts or seeds. The possibilities are endless!
