The spaghetti squash has a very special quality. Uncooked it doesn’t seem very special, but the magic starts when it’s cooked. Then the pulp turns into thin strands that resemble spaghetti. And of course you can use it like spaghetti! A nice alternative to regular spaghetti.

The ancestors of all pumpkins, giant pumpkins and the zucchini have been further cultivated in various countries, resulting in many new varieties including the spaghetti squash.

How to store
Store the pumpkin in a cool place for 4-6 months
How to eat
Halve the pumpkin lengthways and remove the seeds. Place both halves with the cut side downwards on the baking tray and bake at 200 degrees for about 40 to 45 minutes. Then let it cool down and loosen the strands with a fork. You can scoop the strings out, or leave them in the pumpkin and serve it with a great pasta sauce!
