Breadfruit fries with Avocado-Lime Dip
Preheat the oven at 200°C.
Peel the breadfruit and cut it into strips about 1 cm thick. Mix the fries with olive oil, salt, pepper and the bell pepper powder (optional) in a bowl. Place the fries on a baking tray covered with baking paper and bake the fries for about 20-25 minutes until they are goldenbrown and nice and crispy. Turn them regularly so that all sides are fried.
While the fries are baking in the oven, we can make the avocado-Lime dip. Cut the avocado in half, remove the pit and scoop out the creamy green flesh. Flatten the flesh with a fork and add the lime juice, chopped coriander and garlic. Mix everything well and season with some salt and pepper.
Serve the crispy breadfruit fries on a nice plate with the avocado-lime dip in a separate bowl. Ready to enjoy this tastefull and exotic dish!
— FRUIT
Breadfruit
The name of this special fruit is derived from its texture when cooked, which resembles freshly baked bread. However, the taste is more like a potato and it can also be used that way. For many Polynesians, breadfruit has been one of their main food sources for generations.
