Origin
The lime tree was introduced from South Asia to Southern Europe and South America. Most limes you find in the supermarket come from Mexico. Mexican limes are loved for their beautiful green skin. Fortunately, Brazilian limes are also increasingly seen on the market. Brazilian limes often have not so popular yellow ‘bellies’ but contain much more juice than the Mexican version.

How to store
Keep limes in the fruit bowl instead of the fridge, they could be kept there for 1 or 2 weeks.
How to eat
Lime is a delicious, sour seasoning that is used in many cuisines. The juice can be used in many dishes, dressings and sauces. Because of the high acidity, you can cook fish in it, without heating it. This is how you make a delicious ceviche! In addition, lime helps to prevent brown discoloration of avocadoes and bananas. The skin can also be used to grate for a decorative seasoning.
