Sage is an herb with soft leaves. The color of the leaves are silver-green and feel velvety soft. The taste of sage is typical and unique and therefore difficult to describe. It can best be described as warm, spicy and slightly bitter.
Sage originally grew in the Balkans and near the Mediterranean Sea. Like many other herbs, sage was spread by monks throughout Europe and later troughout the rest of the world.
